About
API Pipeline Limited (Anshin Pafomansu Inobeshon Pipeline Ltd) is a future-forward EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) and strategic energy investment firm. We are building on a proud legacy, with over 40-years (1985) in the energy sector while transforming into a global, innovation-driven company. API Pipeline is not just about constructing pipelines, we design, manage, commission, and even finance complex infrastructure projects that shape industries and empower communities.
A Legacy of Pipeline Excellence
API Pipeline established a remarkable track record of delivering nation-defining infrastructure. From energy to utilities, the company executed complex, large-scale projects that became the backbone of Trinidad and Tobago’s industrial landscape. Each success story below stands as a foundational pillar of this legacy, demonstrating technical prowess, massive scale, and transformative national impact.

Oil & Gas
-
Cross Island Pipeline (CIP): API Pipeline played a lead role in completing Trinidad’s largest-ever pipeline project, the Cross Island Pipeline, a 77 km, 56-inch diameter natural gas trunk line spanning from Point Fortin to Guayaguayare. Executed in 2005, this cross-country pipeline was unprecedented in scale and complexity, at one point ranked the widest-diameter gas pipeline in the Western Hemisphere. As the local prime contractor, API Pipeline marshalled roughly 3,000 local workers and over half of the required heavy equipment in partnership with an international firm. This herculean effort not only showcased the company’s ability to tackle monumental engineering challenges, but also delivered a critical artery for the nation’s gas supply network.
-
Atlantic LNG Onshore Network: API Pipeline helped build out the onshore pipeline network feeding Trinidad’s Atlantic LNG export facilities. The company worked alongside global partners to construct every major onshore gas pipeline delivering offshore natural gas to the Atlantic LNG plant. By tying producing fields to the liquefaction trains, these pipelines enabled Trinidad and Tobago’s rise as a world-class LNG exporter. The technical demands were significant, long-distance routes, high pressures, and rigorous safety standards, yet API Pipeline consistently delivered, cementing its reputation as the go-to specialist for Trinidad’s upstream and midstream gas infrastructure.

Petrochemicals
-
Natural Gas Liquids Pipeline to PPGPL: In the downstream sector, API Pipeline extended Trinidad’s hydrocarbon value chain by constructing the dedicated liquid pipeline linking Atlantic LNG to the Phoenix Park Gas Processors Ltd. (PPGPL) facility. This pipeline was vital for transporting natural gas liquids (NGLs) extracted at the LNG plant to the PPGPL fractionation complex, enabling local processing of valuable petrochemical feedstocks. The project’s successful delivery helped integrate the country’s gas export operations with its domestic petrochemical industry, a technical achievement with far-reaching economic impact.

-
Point Lisas Industrial Pipelines: API Pipeline has also been responsible for critical feedstock and process pipelines within the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, the heart of Trinidad’s petrochemical sector. For example, the company installed a new 14-inch, 3.5 km carbon-steel pipeline (with integrated fibre-optic control systems) for a major petrochemical operator at Point Lisas. This project demanded precision in tying into live plant systems and advanced corrosion-resistant construction to meet the stringent standards of clients like Proman. By delivering such infrastructure upgrades, API Pipeline ensured that ammonia, methanol, and other petrochemical facilities in Trinidad have reliable, state-of-the-art pipeline connections to fuel their operations, further solidifying the nation’s downstream industrial capacity.

Civil & Infrastructure
-
National Civil Works and Structural Projects: Beyond energy pipelines, Pipeline broaden its impact through ambitious civil engineering and structural steel works. The company took on large-scale infrastructure assignments for multiple government and utility agencies, ranging from earthworks and drainage to the erection of heavy structural frameworks. Notably, in 2008 API Pipeline executed a nationwide package of civil and structural projects for clients such as the Estate Management & Business Development Company (EMBD), the then national oil company Petrotrin, the Trinidad & Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC), the National Infrastructure Development Company (NIPDEC), and the Ministry of Works and Transport. These works, including road improvements, foundation construction, and industrial site development, underscored API’s versatility and its role in building the country’s broader infrastructure. By leveraging its engineering expertise outside the hydrocarbon sector, the company contributed to critical public works and industrial facilities, leaving a lasting imprint on Trinidad and Tobago’s physical landscape.

Power & Utilities
-
Union Estate Power Station Gas Pipeline: In the power generation arena, API Pipeline delivered the high-pressure gas supply line that powers one of Trinidad’s most important utility installations. The company completed a 5 km, 24-inch natural gas pipeline to feed the new 720 MW Union Estate Power Station (Trinidad Generation Unlimited), the largest power plant in the country. This undertaking involved not only laying the transmission pipeline, but also constructing sophisticated gas handling facilities on-site, including pressure regulation skids, pig receivers, slug catchers, metering stations and associated 16-inch distribution lines. The technical complexity of integrating these systems showcased API’s multi-disciplinary strength. By successfully connecting the nation’s biggest power station to its gas grid, the company enabled a stable and efficient fuel supply for electricity generation, directly supporting Trinidad and Tobago’s energy security and economic growth.

Together, these flagship projects illustrate how the physical and professional foundations of Trinidad and Tobago’s energy and industrial infrastructure. Each pipeline built and each structure raised has strengthened the nation’s capacity, from fuelling LNG exports and petrochemical plants to empowering cities and industry with reliable utilities. This legacy of pipeline excellence now inspires and informs the newly re-invented API Pipeline Limited as it pivots to a global, innovation-driven future. Guided by the same ethos of quality, skill, and bold execution, the company’s next chapter builds on a foundation cemented by decades of extraordinary accomplishments. In honouring this legacy, API Pipeline’s modern vision remains grounded in the knowledge that its past achievements are the bedrock for its future innovations and international growth.
A Strategic Reinvention
API Pipeline Limited represents a strategic reinvention of that legacy rather than a direct continuation, inspired by the groundwork of the previous generation, launching API Pipeline as a new kind of company built for the future. We have deliberately moved away from the conventional role of a construction contractor and toward a more comprehensive role as an EPCM provider and partner in development. This means we don’t just build infrastructure, we plan and design it, manage every aspect of execution, commission facilities to full operation, and even invest in and finance projects to ensure their success.

Crucially, API Pipeline has adopted an agile, asset-light model that emphasizes strategic capabilities over asset ownership. Instead of boasting large fabrication yards or fleets of equipment, we leverage a global network of fabrication and engineering partners. This approach gives us access to cutting-edge facilities and expertise around the world, allowing us to mobilize the best resources for any project, anywhere. By reinventing our business model in this way, we ensure that our clients benefit from world-class capabilities, advanced technology, and a nimble organization that can adapt to the evolving demands of the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Regional Leadership, Global Vision
Headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago, API Pipeline serves as a Trinidad-based hub of engineering excellence for the wider region. We have emerged as a regional leader in energy and infrastructure, trusted throughout the Caribbean for our quality and dependability. At the same time, our vision reaches far beyond our shores.
API Pipeline is actively expanding its footprint with projects and partnerships across South America, Africa, and the United Arab Emirates, positioning the company as a global player in the industry.
